What is the expiry date on the cookies?
The cookies have a shelf life of 8 months from baking date and we are continuously making more cookies every month. We recommend to those who are ordering cookies for your hospital bag to wait till your last trimester to order the cookies. This way we can assure you are getting a fresh batch of cookies with plenty of time before the best before date on the packet.
Do you have a shop where I can go in and buy the products?
We are pleased to now have our products available in stockists throughout New Zealand and you can find one closest to you. Click here. Otherwise, if you have a suitable store in mind that would be a great fit for our products, we would love the suggestion. Please, feel free to email or message us your recommendations.
Do the products work?
Well, firstly, I don’t think I would have a business if they didn’t. However, I do understand people’s skepticism. There has been a lot of studies done on Galactagogues but never had there been any clinical studies done on mothers and their milk supply when eating the specific ingredients that we use at The Lactation Station. The concept of using natural ingredients to increase a mother’s milk supply has been around for generations but it has not been until recent years that it has become commercialized so there is a lot of people out there that do understandably question our methods. Over the years, I have sold thousands of cookies to women around New Zealand and Australia and have hundreds of reviews from those who I have helped to increase their milk supply. I have helped women who were having to use formula top up because of their low supply, to increase their supply to the point that they no longer needed formula. Women who have been ill and their supply has dropped as a result. Then they have a few cookies over the next couple of days and the supply is back to normal. I have even had women who swear by the cookies for the babies who are struggling to gain weight. Their milk became fattier after eating the cookies therefore their babies are getting fattier milk helping them to gain weight. Although, I personally believe that my products do work, I never mislead women when I am discussing the option of trying our products to help to them. I always disclose the fact that every mother is different, and it may not work for everyone. However, what is the harm in trying. It’s just a delicious cookie after all.
How many cookies do I have to eat to help increase my supply?
I recommend to women to eat 4+ a day for the first 2 days then adjust to suit.
How quickly will I see the results?
If the products do work for you then most women see a result within 24- 48hours. Personally, when I was breastfeeding, I would eat 4 cookies at night and by 2am I would wake up extra full boobs compared to the other nights that I wouldn’t eat any.
I do not have issues with my supply, but can I still eat them?
Yes, of course you can. They are still just a cookie and you can enjoy them too.
Can I eat these while I am pregnant?
Yes, you can. Our products are made from natural ingredients that are safe to consume during pregnancy. However, our Boobie Brew does contain Raspberry leaf therefore consuming the tea is not recommended until 32 weeks.
When should I start eating the cookies?
I have 2 parts to this question when I am talking to a mother. 1. If you are a first-time mother, I always say TRUST YOUR BODY. A women’s body is an incredible thing and our bodies should naturally do it’s thing to bring in that amazing substance to keep your baby full and growing. However, the cookies do make a great snack to have in your hospital bag rather than other snacks that have no benefits so have them ready to snack on after baby arrives. 2. I get a lot of mothers coming to me saying that this is their 2 or 3 child and they have had issues before with their milk coming in so they want to try the cookies this time round. To these mothers I recommend starting to eat the cookies 2 weeks leading up to your due that. This way you are enriching your body with the nutrients it needs to hopefully help get that milk going once baby arrives. I also have some help tips and tricks for breastfeeding mothers.
